Coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the world. The new variant found in India is deadlier than expected and thought to fuel a new wave of infections in the country. This news has overwhelmed us all, resulting in heightened anxiety and stress. Amidst all of this, it is crucial to take care of our emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. With so much uncertainty around us, managing stress and anxiety seems like the only way to fight this battle.

Here are some ways you can manage stress during this hard time:

Develop a Routine: Routines help to create a sense of control and normalcy in our lives. It helps us to remain productive and positive. Structure your day and create a routine to maintain a healthy sleeping pattern, good diet and regular exercise regime.

Create a self-care ritual: Self-care is essential for the overall wellbeing of an individual. So meditate, read, workout/ do yoga, cook for yourself, paint- do whatever makes you happy and make it a ritual to do it at least twice a week.

Take a break from the News: While multiple news apps help us keep updated with the daily news, they also add to our anxiety and stress. So, disconnect from the news, especially the coronavirus coverage and instead read a book while sipping a cup of tea/coffee.

Find creative ways to express yourself: Express yourself daily. This will help you become more aware of your feelings and help you feel less stressed. You can choose to write in a journal, make videos, write blogs, paint, bake, or whatever you think will help you cope with your emotions.

Re-organise your furniture and cupboard: Re-organising will help you keep busy and also give you a sense of achievement once done.

Connect with others: No doubt, human interaction is essential for every aspect of our health. with human interaction being limited to online platforms only, make sure you connect with your friends and family via call, message or emails at least once a week.
